Expect Nothing

Almost every single day this year has been tortuous. All different kinds. Today, like many, was a battle between "I have to do this" and "what the fuck am I doing". All the while, not doing much of anything.

Forgot to mention – there was an amazing rainbow over Elliot Bay when I was walking along Alki on Sunday. When I first got out of the car, it was sunny but just barely raining. Pretty soon the rainbow formed – a double, spanning from Magnolia to downtown (intercepted by the hill from where I was). I just stared at it the whole time I walked along, once in a while making sure I wasn't about to step into traffic.

music: Depeche Mode - Music For the Masses (the first song I ever really cranked up on the stereo was the "Aggro Mix" of "Never Let Me Down Again", just standing in the living room listening to the sound of the synth bass line and the chanting vocals); Ministry - The Land of Rape and Honey (from the same year, but it was only a couple years later that I first heard some of these songs, cranked up in the club this time); Miles Davis - On the Corner
